We have the facilities to record the crushing process with frame in frame video displaying the live results.
Our experience and early age test data highlight potential failures, when suspected or requested we will record the crushing process, this is in addition to the loading graphs that are recorded for every cube we test.
Some of the many Indicators that alert us to potential failures are:
1. Lower density that experience would suggest.
2. Undersize cubes that have shrunk due to excessive water content.
3. Visual inspections indicating poor gradings with noticeable deficiencies in materials.
4. Evidence of segregation.
5. Excessive time required to de-mould the sample.
6. Out of specification concrete that was still placed and sampled.
When cubes fail or we suspect they may fail, our clients will be contacted, all cubes that fail are retained for further analysis by a completely independent partner specialist if required.
